Of the three I tried, Orchid Infinity, the edgy cream, was the shade I had the most issues with. Wearing Estee Lauder Pure Color Love Lipstick in Orchid Infinity The colours were pre-selected for us, but I like how they approached the selection as it gave me the chance to try out a variety of finishes. I was gifted an interesting variety of shades at the Pure Color Love launch event: Estee Lauder Pure Color Love Lipsticks swatches – Orchid Infinity, Bar Red and Flash Chill It’s a weighty product, which to me has always meant luxury. Weird shape aside, the lipsticks themselves are quite lovely – which is really the whole point of the product now isn’t it? The packaging is a pull out tube with a lovely satisfying snap closure. Which means a heck of a lot of wear on one side of it – and yet I can never remember which side I’m wearing it down! ARGH! I’m currently trying to wear the lipstick down in the shape *I* want. Sure, it’s edgy, unique, whatever the heck else you want to call it, but it’s not for me. One thing’s for sure – I don’t like the shape. I don’t even know what to call it – chisel edge point? X-acto knife? Like what the heck even is that? It comes to a sharp point as both sides are exactly identical – a steep vertical slant to the end of the lipstick bullet. Perhaps the most bizarre thing about this range is the shape of the lipstick bullet. There are loads of nudes, heaps of brights, and plenty of deep shades. Ranging from “ulta mattes to shimmer pearls, cool chromes and edgy cremes”, the colour lineup has a blissful diversity that doesn’t seem too heavy in any area. Love the mysterious deep purple shade.Brand new to Estee Lauder is their 30-colour range of the Pure Color Love lipsticks. Nocturnal- best as a liner or to deepen the crease. Good for the crease or as a blender color to blend gradient colors together. Satellite Dreams- one of my favorite medium purples. A cornflower blue that is not very popular as the texture is not that good. It is a shimmery light red that would be great on the crease. Zeal - this is a limited edition color, and I don't use it often. I use this as a wash on the lid and it just perks up my complexion and makes my eyes look more awake.Ĭranberry- this deep berry color is amazing as an outer V or crease color, and I pair this with plums and my MAC pigment in Maroon to give the look some depth. It is amazing both on light and dark skintone. This was repromoted in one of the quads from the Hello Kitty collection.Įxpensive Pink is a beautiful shimmery bronzy peachy pink that is as unique as it is gorgeous. It is more of peach than pink, and it is a gorgeous all-over lid color. Paradisco- another popular permanent color. It is different from In Living Pink, however. Living Pink is a popular color, a brighter pink that is very feminine. Lavender Sky was also a limited edition color, and this is one of my favorites with deeper purples. It is a pretty lilac that is also great with pinks, deep purples, blues, basically any cool color. Mancatcher was a coveted lavender-blue shadow from the Lure, Bait, Hooked collection. When paired with a deeper pink, purple or even blue, it totally balances the look and makes the eyes look bright and awake. This was the one of three two MAC eyeshadows I've hit pan of (the other two are Ricepaper and All that Glitters). (See the rest of the eyeshadow descriptions after the jump)Īs you can see in the photo of my 15-pan palette, Swish is my fave and my most-loved. Demi-Sweet is a deep purple with sheen that would look great on the crease or as a liner. Gateaux is a light shimmery pink that is amazing as an inner lid color or as a highlighter. It's amazing as a highlighter and it goes very well with pinks, lilacs, blues, purples. Almond Icing is similar to Vex- a beautiful pink duochrome with flashes of blue (or is it green?). I used MAC Bare Canvas paint as base for these swatches.Īlmond Icing, Gateaux, and Demi-Sweet were from my Sweetie Cakes eyeshadow quad (the collection from 2 or 3 years ago). These swatches were swatched under direct sunlight with no flash. I'm partial to pinks and purples because I think they go well with my skintone. I love wearing pinks and lavenders when I feel feminine and romantic, or whenever I just feel like it.
